International Sopot Youth Conference

On Friday, May 26, the Institute of Oceanography of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Sopot hosted the International Sopot Youth Conference 2017, on which Wiktor Wróbel delivered a presentation entitled Relationship between social anxiety and study addiction, for which he received the Sopocki Scientific Society Award for the best presentation in the “Science section social “.

First place in the competition of course seminars

On Tuesday, June 6 at the Institute of Psychology at the University of Gdańsk there was a competition of course seminars, at which Piotr Bereznowski and Wiktor Wróbel under the supervision of dr. Rafał Lawendowski received the first place for the research project entitled “The relationship between social anxiety and learning addiction among students of music majors”.

 

Psyche Conference – Body – (Not) Mindfulness

On Tuesday, May 23 at the Institute of Psychology at the University of Casimir the Great in Bydgoszcz, the 8th National Student Scientific Conference entitled “Psyche – Body – (Not) Mindfulness”, on which members of Psychological Research Club “Experior” gave three presentations:

Dependence on exercises and mindfulness – Paulina Bagińska
The relationship between shopping addiction and mindfulness – Michalina Sęktas
Relevance of one-item self-report stress of exam examination-preliminary tests – Anna Świątkowska

36th Congress of the Polish Psychological Society

On September 21-24, the 36th Congress of the Polish Psychological Society took place at our University.

Our members: Kaja Malicka, Artur Sawicki, Julia Balcerowska and Adriana Biernatowska actively helped in organizing the congress.

In addition, Julia Balcerowska and Adriana Biernatowska gave a presentation at the Congress
“Addiction to computer games: adaptation of the GAS Brief tool and preliminary results of tests”

 


		

PhD Paweł Atroszko in the final of the National Competition of StRuNa!!!

Our supervisor, PhD. Paweł Atroszko, has been a finalist of the national competition of scientific circles organized by the Student Scientific Movement (StRuNa), in the competition category: “Guardian of the Year 2017”. All nominees will take part in the Awards Gala at the Royal Castle in Warsaw on November 19.

Member of Psychological Research Club “Experior” laureate of the Diamond Grant

On November 15, at the Copernicus Science Center, the Gala of awarding the 6th edition of the “Diamond Grant” program, organized by the Ministries of Science and Higher Education, took place.

Artur Sawicki, the winner of the competition, received personal congratulations and a commemorative diamond from the Minister of Science and Higher Education, Jarosław Gowin.

Thanks to participation in the program, Artur will be able to implement the project entitled “An effective and communal model of narcissism in the context of romantic relationships”. Arthur’s scientific supervisor is dr. hab. Magdalena Żemojtel-Piotrowska.

The final of the StRuNa 2017 competition

On 19 November 2017, the supervisor of the Psychological Research Club of the “Experior” received the distinction in the Guardian of the Year category in the National Competition of the Year 2014 for the best scientific clubs organized by the Student Scientific Movement under the patronage of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. We are very proud of our guardian!

Meeting with an expert

At our last meeting on November 28, we had the pleasure to host Jarosław Szczepański, an employee of the research agency Pbs. During the meeting, we learned the methodological details on the representativeness of the trials. What’s more, we have received practical tips on how to design the best selection of such a test.
We would like to thank Mr. Jarosław for the meeting.

Studies at Horizon 2017

On December 8, at the World War II museum in Gdańsk, a conference was held. “Studies on Horizon”. This is an event that is intended to help high school graduates in the conscious choice of studies.
During this year’s edition, Piotr Piotrowski, a member of Psychological Research Club “Experior” gave a lecture on psychology at the University of Gdańsk. He presented the realities of studying in this field and talked about the possibilities faced by a student of psychology. In addition, he presented the activities of Our Club to the audience.
