Streszczenie: Badania systematycznie pokazują związek cynicznej wrogości z wieloma zmiennymi psychologicznymi i zdrowiem. Niniejsze opracowanie ukazuje rolę cynicznej wrogości w kształtowaniu się relacji społecznych i związku ich jakości z poczuciem bezradności. Założono, że poszukiwanie wsparcia społecznego będzie mediatorem związku pomiędzy cyniczną wrogością a bezradnością u studentów.

Moderating effect of learning enjoyment on the relationship between learning self-efficacy and emotions among university students

Streszczenie: The aim of this study was to examine whether learning enjoyment moderates the relationship between learning self-efficacy and emotions. Learning competences have two components: the first one is the knowledge and abilities how to learn effectively with subjective sense of learning self-efficacy, second involves positive attitude associated with drawing pleasure from learning. Emotions examined in the study had different valences and included love, happiness, anger, sadness, shame and fear.

Streszczenie: This study aimed to examine whether the dimensions of dysfunctional perfectionism mediate the relationship between social anxiety and examination stress. On the grounds of previous studies and social anxiety theory it was suggested that social anxiety is positively related to examination stress and maladaptive dimensions of perfectionism, in particular to concern over mistakes and doubts about actions.

Relationship between personality and attitudes to Wikipedia

Streszczenie: The  aim  of  the  study  was  to  examine  the  relationship between   attitudes   to   Wikipedia   and   six   personality   traits (extraversion,   emotional   stability,   openness   to   experience, conscientiousness,  agreeableness  and  cynical  hostility)  among Polish  students.  Conscientiousness  was  negatively  related  to editing   Wikipedia   and   positive   opinions   about   Wikipedia. Cynical  hostility  was  not  related  to  any  specific  attitude  to Wikipedia.   Extraversion   and   openness   to   experience   were positively  related  to  positive  opinions  on  Wikipedia.  The  results are  inconsistent  with  previous  work  and  future  studies  should clarify the divergences.

Research is grounded in Schwartz’s Theory of Basic Values, in which values are defined as a cognitive representation of motivation, aspirations and goals. Cynical hostility is a trait that is characterized by mistrustfulness, malevolence, negative attitude towards others, and situating oneself in the opposition to others.

Relationship between cynical hostility and primary emotional appraisal of a stressful situation of academic test

Streszczenie: The conducted research aimed to investigate the association between cynical hostility and primary emotional appraisal of a stressful situation of academic test. The level of temporarily perceived stress was also measured. Based on previous findings, it was hypothesised that cynical hostility is positively related to perceived stress right before the academic test as well as to harm-loss and threat cognitive appraisals, and negatively related to challenge/benefit appraisal.
